Pinemar handles asbestos removal in Toronto and across the GTA — the core of our abatement work. Older homes and commercial buildings commonly hide asbestos in insulation, vermiculite, drywall joint compound, ceiling texture, floor tiles, and vinyl sheet flooring. Before any renovation or demolition disturbs those materials, they need to be identified and removed under controlled conditions.

We also do the testing. Pinemar samples suspect materials and provides full DSS reports — Designated Substance Surveys covering asbestos, lead, silica, mercury, and other regulated substances. In Ontario, a DSS is required before most demolition permits and is the document renovators, contractors, and city officials ask for, so you get laboratory-confirmed results and a complete written report you can hand to anyone on the project.

Beyond asbestos, we provide mould remediation and lead abatement. Mould is removed from affected framing, drywall, and cavities after the moisture source is addressed, and lead-based paint is managed or removed with containment and careful surface preparation. Every hazardous material gets its own containment, removal procedure, and disposal route based on the risk level.

Can I remove asbestos myself?

For anything beyond the smallest non-friable materials, professional removal is the safe and legal route.

How does mould remediation work?

The moisture source is identified first, because mould returns if the water problem remains. Affected drywall, insulation, or framing is removed under containment, surfaces are cleaned and treated, and the area is dried before rebuilding. How soon can abatement be scheduled?
